Schermafbeelding_2013-06-13_om_13.59.01.pngThe Supplementary Feeding Programme improves the nutritional condition of children and contributes to the reduction of infant mortality. HIRDA runs 15 Supplementary Feeding Programmes (SFP), of which 10 centres are located in Bardera and 5 centres are located in the Burdubo districts. The centres empower communities to improve their well-being by seeking timely medical services. The programme is sponsored by UNICEF and enables HIRDA to reach a wide population. A total of 2400 boys and girls received supplementary feeding in Bardera and Burdubo districts in the period between 2008 and 2010. The SFP are regular on-going programmes established within the community which ensures the continuity of the programme beyond the project period.
