2.JPG Mosquito nets are distributed in Somalia to protect people from malaria. Pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, children under the age of 5 years and elderly people are vulnerable to malaria due to the fragile environment. HIRDA focuses on the procurement and distribution of mosquito net in order to prevent malaria. HIRDA works closely with UNICEF to distribute long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) in the Gedo region. Each household receives two LLINs and they are informed on the dangers of malaria, the importance of using mosquito nets and how to use it.
